    John Wilson

    Apprenticeship Director

    John has decades of managerial experience in employment-based services, the last 12 years in workforce development. With LAUNCH and RCC professionals, he is developing registered apprenticeship programs that align with current RCC pathways. Prior to joining RCC, John performed career services work at Mt. San Antonio College. Earlier, as the Business and Employment Services Manager for Coalition for Responsible Community Development, linked to the Los Angeles Trade Technical College, John was instrumental in bringing the EWDD’s premier WorkSource Center into prominence in record time. He is a Certified Workforce Development Professional and a Registered Offender Workforce Development Specialist. He serves as Regional Vice President for the California Employer Advisory Council and as Chair of the LA Metro Employer Advisory Council.

    Dr. Shari Yates

    Dean of Instruction

    Shari has served as RCC Dean of Instruction, CTE Division, since 2020. She is a tenured Professor of Early Childhood Education, having served the RCC District from 1990.   She has played a key role in providing services to meet the economic and workforce development needs of the Riverside community.  In her position as head of the School of Education and Teacher Preparation Department, she has led the training of community college students to teach young children.  Shari is a highly experienced educator, having taught preschool, public school, primary and secondary, and having served in many leadership roles throughout her career. She received a BS in Health Science Education at Brigham Young University, attended CSU Long Beach receiving both master’s degree and Early Childhood Specialist (Ed.S.), then earned a doctorate degree in Organizational Leadership from Brandman University.
